- Circus Ring of Fame Induction -

In a ceremony held at St. Armands Circle in Sarasota, Florida in 1995, Karl L. King was posthumously inducted into the Circus Ring of Fame. That Ring of Fame is a walkway of plaques set in concrete memorials in the shade of Circle Park's palm trees, paying homage to more than 70 artists and entrepreneurs who represent the finest talent of the circus world.  The photo above shows King's daughter-in-law, Lois King of San Antonio, speaking at the ceremony which was held in conjunction with the winter convention of Windjammers Unlimited.  Before the ceremony, a 50 piece band of Windjammers, a national organization dedicated to the preservation of circus music, performed a concert of Karl King circus music.
