The Karl L. King Municipal Band of Fort Dodge, Iowa

The 2007 Indoor Concert Series

The St. Patrick's Day program by the Karl L. King Municipal Band of Fort Dodge was held on Sunday afternoon, March 18, at the Decker Auditorium on the campus of Iowa Central Community College.  The February concert had been cancelled because of extreme Iowa weather conditions.

This concert was the traditional Irish Concert, in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.  Many familiar Irish songs were performed, including everyone’s favorite, McNamara’s Band, as arranged by former conductor Reginald R. Schive.

Other Irish selections on the program were Strains from Erin as arranged by Lucien Cailliet, Two Irish Songs by Clare Grundman, and the beautiful ballad, Irish Tune from County Derry, arranged for band by Percy Aldridge Grainger.

Several march selections were performed, including Spirit of Minstrelsy, and Monahan Post by Karl L. King, The Boys of the Old Brigade by W. Paris Chambers, and The Irish Boys by Bill Willey.
