The 2010 Indoor Concert Series

This concert was the band’s traditional Irish Concert in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.

Irish selections on the program included Strains from Erin as arranged by Lucien Cailliet, Ireland as arranged by Warren Barker, Irish Tune from County Derry by Percy Grainger, and two selections from Leroy Anderson’s Irish Suite, The Minstrel Boy, and The Girl I Left Behind Me.

Several march selections were also performed, including Bon Voyage, by Karl L. King, along with Irish Patrol by George Drumm and Hands Across The Sea by John Philip Sousa. Harrigan, by George M. Cohan was also performed.

Roger Netz, a member of the Saxophone section, led the audience in a sing-along of the traditional Irish favorites, When Irish Eyes Are Smiling and That’s An Irish Lullaby.

Many familiar Irish songs were performed, including everyone’s favorite, McNamara’s Band, as arranged by former conductor Reginald R. Schive.

This concert closed with our national anthem, The Star-spangled Banner.
