The third concert of the 2018 Summer Concert Series

KING BAND PERFORMS ANOTHER CONCERT

       On Sunday, June 24, Conductor Jimmerson performed a special evening of musical selections by American composers.

Opening the evening was Karl King’s march, Iowa Centennial.

      Also performed were compositions by Leonard Bernstein, Meredith Willson, Irving Berlin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and George Gershwin.

Shari Netz was the vocal soloist for this evening.

        Guest soloists for this evening were Larry Prescott on trumpet, and Karen Anderson Prescott on French Horn.  They are currently living in the Minneapolis area.  Larry is a Fort Dodge Senior High graduate, and Karen graduated from Ames High School.  Both attended Iowa State University.

Larry and Karen Andersen Prescott performed Antonio Vivaldi’s Double Concerto,
and Larry was also featured on Hoagy Carmichael’s Star Dust.

Closing this concert was John Philip Sousa’s classic march, The Washington Post.
